“A romantic getaway to the beaches of the Mexican Caribbean”
Mexico is a beautiful place. These last few months have given us the opportunity to rediscover what we have, the amazing tourist offer that exists in our country and the destinations that are ready to receive all those couples, who are about to live one of the most special journeys of their lives.
We want to invite every couple who has got married or are about to get married, and have yet not been able to plan their honeymoon, to travel within our Mexico. And what better place for honeymooners than the beaches of Cancun.
Without a doubt it is a very complete destination, where you can enjoy with your partner from aquatic activities, international haute cuisine, amazing places and the absolute best beaches in the world, where you don’t have to do anything but enjoy the sun and the ocean breeze.
A few weeks ago, my husband and I decided not to wait to have our mini honeymoon within Mexico. We chose Live Aqua Beach Resort Cancún, as “the place” to have our romantic getaway.
From the moment we arrived at the hotel, the welcome was very warm. We made our private check-in at the Aqua Club, which is a beautiful lounge overlooking the sea and the lagoon, where you will find a bar with deliciously scented premium service. That’s where the “Aqua experience” began. While we waited for the room, we were offered mimosas, for us to have that “relaxing” post airport and flight feeling.
A surprise that undoubtedly made us the day, was the detail that Mr. Alfredo Santamaria, General Director of Live Aqua Beach Resort Cancún and the hotel´s wedding team brought us to the room, from whom we received an exquisite bottle of wine and some delicious macarons.
The room didn’t stop surprising us, its modern and fresh design made it feel extremely comfortable and pleasant. Everything is automated, so from the comfort of your bed you can turn on, and off the lights and even open and close the curtains. The bathroom has a “sexy style”, with their mirror doors, to take a delicious bath while viewing the ocean. Molton Brown amenities and a beach bag are among the many details that we found.
The view is unique, what can I tell you about those turquoise tones that only the Mexican Caribbean can offer us! We didn’t take more than 5 minutes to decide to go down to the beach. The luxury and comfort are also extended to the outdoor areas of the hotel. Having cabins on the beach, being in the pool, or using the lounge beds on the terraces made our search for romance so much easier.
Since our stay was only for three nights, we decided not to miss the opportunity of enjoying every one of the seven specialty restaurants the hotel has. On our first night, we had dinner at the Varenna, a small Italian trattoria surrounded by mangroves and decorated with beautiful bistro lights. I cannot explain how spectacular each of their dishes, their setting and service were. The highlight of the dinner was without a doubt my spinach ravioli and the opera dessert, a magnificent choice.
On our second day, we began with the mandatory visit to the gym which is equipped with top quality equipment and of course, the level of care and sanitation they have for this area is impeccable. It requires a prior reservation due to the safe distance and contact of the devices and the girls of the spa, who are always smiling, help you with it.
After our morning exercise routine, we had breakfast in the seventh restaurant, which is decorated with Mexican touches in a very elegant contemporary way, and the assisted buffet offers all kinds of options for a perfect morning.
The day at the beach was wonderful, the swell in that part of the zone is intense and perfect for catching waves…or maybe they will catch you hahaha.
In the evening, our dearest Abi and Gon from Luxart Wedding Studio had made a reservation for a photoshoot session at Live Aqua Beach Resort Cancun as a gift. I cannot explain how much fun we had, the laughs we shared and the amazing pictures that came out as a result and that illustrate this little article. Luxart Wedding Studio is an argentine couple, with a wonderful gift, they have magic when communicating and you can see the level of empathy they have with others, they manage to get the best out of everyone in each photo, and above all, they make you feel so comfortable that you don’t even feel like you are being photographed …. Those two are pure dynamite!
Writing this makes me remember, and they say that remembering is like living again, those three days were magical and unforgettable. Gab and I made incredible memories in that hotel, and felt super pampered by Ambar and Claudia, who are in charge of the wedding department, and without a doubt, they were checking in on us at all times, to see if we needed anything.
For our third night we enjoyed the star restaurant of the MB hotel, that has an international menu with molecular touches, and luxurious decoration that left us with a great after taste. We were told a different story with every plate that we ordered… our highlights from that dinner were the delicious tuna tataki with citrus spheres and ponzu foam, the popular habanero cream served French style on a bread crust and the steak of beef accompanied by a ragu of potatoes with mushrooms and pea emulsion.
The days were ending and we had no desire to return, that is why we didn´t stop enjoying from the wonderful quality of food and drinks that Live Aqua Beach Resort Cancún offers and Sea Corner, the Caribbean restaurant with the best ceviches, was our faithful ally for lunch, the toasts and fish tacos are madness in addition with the marvelous view of the Caribbean Sea that it has, making this restaurant a definite most… so much that we ate there every day.
Something that left us very surprised and grateful, was the kindness and great service from all of the hotel staff. You can see the good direction in their actions, even though they were not responsible for the area where we contacted them, they always knew how to attend to us and helped us resolve any doubts we had.
And last but not least… our dinner at the Hidden Garden, a restaurant hidden under a beautiful mangrove, decorated in red tones, was the perfect expression of the Asian fusion they offer on their menu. It is an explosion of flavors, each and every one of our plates were delicious, I will always keep in my heart the sashimi soup with sheets of mahi mahi, soy sauce, red curry and red onions with harusame noodles which without a doubt is a must that you have to order on your visit to this restaurant.
They honeymoon experience at Live Aqua Beach Resort Cancún, exceeded our expectations, that much so, that we are planning on returning very soon and we now feel like a part of the family #Aqualover.
