The Love Story
I’m from a small town of Hughson California where I had opened a Mexican restaurant Agave Azul Kitchen & Tequila bar with my sisters . We were doing interviews for a chef & Alfredo had applied for the position. Alfredo had just moved to California from his hometown of Michoacán, Mexico where he had just graduated from culinary school. We interviewed him & gave him the job, not in a million years did I ever think I was hiring my now husband.
I started to work close with him asking him to create specials for the restaurant & there was one particular special he had done for lent which was a whole fried fish with a special sauce, the special was a hit & I decided to text him at the end of that night to thank him & tell him he had done an amazing job.
From that night forward we became friends & started talking almost daily. He had me always laughing, it was never a dull moment with him & just loved how down to earth he was. We connected on a different level & became closer with time & the rest is history.
Three years later we went on a trip to Europe with my parents & my sister. After the second week in Europe we visited Paris, we had booked a tour for the Eiffel Tower that night & as we were going up the tower his heart was beating like crazy & I asked him if he was ok, he said I don’t like heights lol once we were out of the elevator we started to take pictures & a minute later he pulls me back drops to one knee & proposes. It was magical, it was like a fairytale.
Why did they choose San Miguel?
We chose San Miguel de Allende when we took a trip to his hometown Michoacán & decided to do a road trip to San Miguel. When we arrived that night we immediately fell in love & both said this is where we want to get married not knowing it was a popular wedding destination spot. San Miguel is such a magical town full of color, life, amazing people & food.
